Adam nodded his head in agreement with Belle’s words. Though, even if she had chosen someone else that he may appear more like that would have been fine with him. But it seemed they both agreed that from the story he was more like Athos than the others. “Then it appears we are in agreement.” He said with as smile as he looked down at Belle. Upon Belle’s next question he wasn’t entirely sure what it was they could do. He knew it was still storming outside so he would much rather do something perhaps read another book. They could walk around the castle, but Adam worried perhaps that might not be the best thing with the storm being so loud outside. He would truly be content doing whatever it was Belle may wish to do as he always was. As long as he was spending time with Belle and she was happy that is all that ever truly mattered to him. “Whatever you wish to do I am content with anything.” The smile easily remained on his lips which was becoming more common now that he was human. He certainly still had times when he could become angry or annoyed, but when he was Belle that was very rare. It always felt happy and content with her.
Adam raised and eyebrow upon Belle’s words. “But?” He questioned uncertain what it was she may wish to do. He had assumed she might suggest reading another book for he knew it was something she loved doing very much. And he in turn of course loved reading with her and even by himself. It was because of Belle that his love for reading was before her he didn’t really ever read. As a child he hadn’t been fond of books nor reading or being read too. But with Belle it became something he learned to enjoy and even after the spell had been broken was still something he quite enjoyed. At least for the most part while studying various things it could be a bit boring, but it was sometimes difficult to make factual books as interesting as the stories Belle would read.
Adam looked at Belle curiously as she giggled and spoke once more. The kiss wasn’t entirely expected, but it wasn’t unwelcome either. He smiled kissing Belle back softly noticing as she moved closer to him to where she was sitting on his lips. He looked down at her softly as she pulled away and then laid her head upon his shoulder. He wrapped his arms around her waist as he kept his eyes upon her feeling her remove the ribbon from his hair which allowed his hair to come loose. “As I love you.” He spoke softly certainly grateful to have Belle here with him. That she had been able to even love him to begin with. Before she had come he had truly nearly lost all hope that anyone could ever love him and the fact he could love in return was something he had entirely expected. He knew he needed to if he ever hoped to break the spell that once had been upon him, but to truly experience was something entirely different. It was not all as he had thought it would be. As Belle moved to kiss his cheek it wasn’t quite as easy to look at her as he once had been his expression remained soft, but appeared a bit questionably as she thanked him. “For what?”
Content, warm, loved. Things had been going so well for the two had they really been so perfect for each other? Had things really been played out so well…. Fate, coming upon the two like a reaper forcing them into this happily ever after. Realization and gratefulness two things that Belle had been thankful for. She was so happy she realized she loved him, and to add too everything she was so very grateful to have him with her every moment… He was perfect, in every possible way that someone could be perfect. Witty, Smart, Handsome, Loving. The list of qualities could extend on for all eternity, and yet every adjective she could conjure was not enough to describe him, they could never really measure up to his perfectness.
The French beauty had found herself a bit happy that he had asked why she was thanking him. She had no fear in explaining to him why she had felt the need to thank him. Even if they were married, and she had no reason to thank him for such, she had done so anyways because it was simply a custom she had, something that she felt the need to do… “I’m thanking you because your so caring, so loving… so perfect. Your always there for me, and I know it must get tiring this time of season… With me going bonkers every time a little wind crashes against the windows…. So thank you, for putting up with my childish fears.” A small laugh had begun to slip from her lips. After she had sighed happily and leaned in once more to rest her head on his shoulder.
Her brown longs had been loosened from her normal pony, and with the help of her right hand they had once more been freed. “How about we go find another book? Or perhaps we can tell our own stories? We haven’t done that is so long…!” Leaning out some Belle had glanced up with eager eyes, all her activities had revolved around telling stories, exploring the unknown, magic, swordfights! Things that were simply divine to her. “You pick! I Picked last time so its your turn this time.” Those greenish brown optics had strayed from those pale blue gems that had been his and now they had gandered upon his peachy lips. Biting unto her lower lip her right hand had strayed once more only so that her fingertips could bush against his lower lip as she had waited for his answer.
Ariel blinked in surprise as Belle placed the coat on her. It was soft and very light. She had never felt anything like it before, but it was very warm. This must be how humans dealt with cold weather “Ahh..winter? hmm I tend not to pay much attention to the change of seasons. I know some fish move to warmer waters but we don’t ever need to. Our bodies just adjust to the tempature shifts.” She rubbed her hands over the strange thing she had put on her “What is this thing? its so light and puffy…Like a cloud.” She batted at it watching it go up and down in the air with ease.
“Down there? Oh well…nothing all that special. Sure its pretty and there are lots of fish, but honestly it looks far more interesting up here. Flipping your fins can only get you so far though.” She looked curiously to the plump woman, wonder what she was talking about. “So where are you two from?”
Belle didn’t believe her, boring the Ocean? Never! Belle had thought the Earth was interesting but how amazing would it be to see what lurked in the deep sea. Colors of fish that had never been able to be seen all due to the minimum capabilities of the modern fishermen. If they had new scientific breakthroughs then perhaps things were different, but those inventions and innovations had yet to surface so Belle was left to ponder. With a heavy sigh her hands had led to her lap toying with the cotton fabric that had shielded her from the cold winds, that had now begun to whip past them all… Like needles they would hit against their skins. Quite discomforting. “Its called a wrap, or shoulder blanket. Its not exactly a coat its made for women to go over their dresses in cold weather.”
Mrs.Potts had been nodding to Belle’s words. She hadn’t been talking much since she had seemed to become more and more cold, and every time she had opened her mouth to speak her teeth would begin to chatter. Belle knew they would have to leave soon, the carriage wouldn’t be waiting for them and Adam wouldn’t be too happy if she was stranded in the cold. “So your a mermaid who doesn’t want to be a mermaid?” With a raised brow the French beauty hadn’t been to for sure, how could anyone not want to be a mermaid? “Us? Oh well we are from well France, which is where you are… A small town is just to the south of us…we really aren’t located in any particular town, our castle is just sort of….there in the middle of the woods.”
Before Belle could speak once more someone had appeared from the other side of the beach… A familiar face, Gaston? What was he doing here. Before Belle could protest him another being had come lurking from behind him… A woman? No a fish? What the….a fat, ugly looking woman had crawled and slithered over the sand… and with Gaston guarding her that atrocious creature had tossed a ball of green substance toward Ariel. When it had collided with the female her entire body was now engulfed in light… and when it had dispersed her fins were no longer visible in their place had now been a set of legs…
"Gaston what are you!" Belle had quickly scurried over and covered Ariel’s legs and other lower body parts…. And like that Gaston and the creepy maiden had disappeared…. It was so odd! What was going on. "Mrs.Potts who was that with Gaston…and why did they….Im so… Confused…." Shaking her head Belle looked to Ariel. "Are..are you ok?"
Belle is afraid of winter storms, the fear had derived from the night she had been told to get out by Adam, and in haste did she heed his words. This had also caused her to become afraid of wolves, not that she was too fond of them before. In winter storms Belle goes into a frenzy of scared and fearful emotions. So far the only thing that can seem to calm her is Adam, and her reading.
Ariel flopped back a bit, not only was it one human but TWO. She blinked a couple of times in surprise “I-I’m fine, just startled is all.” She sat herself back up, quickly smoothing her hair back down. “Oh no, I wasn’t caught, I came up here because I wanted to.” She grinned at her. It was surprising to actually be talking to a human, and she didn’t seem scared either. “My name’s Ariel. Now that you mention it…it’s a little colder on land than I thought it would be..” She giggled nervously. She was in awe at the woman’s clothes they looked so pretty.
“This is my first time coming on land, so I wasn’t really sure what to expect. Sort of…spur of the moment choice, I guess I should have thought it out more.” This was her chance, she was finally talking to a human. She had so many things that she had wanted to say, but now suddenly her mind had gone blank.
Cold? Of course it was cold, it was the middle of winter. Poor little angel had no idea… She seemed curious. Belle could definitely respect that, she herself had been one whom moved on the spur of the moment…sometimes anyways. “It’s a lot warmer in the summer time dear… Right now its the season of well winter.. Very cold, very chilly. You sure picked the wrong day to come up here.” She could not help but to allow a tiny giggle to part her plump rosy appendages. Finally had the plump old Mrs.Potts caught up. She gasped at the sight of the girl.. the mermaid. “Oh well isn’t this a surprise… Not that it makes sense coming from a woman who was a pot for ten years.” Laughing out Mrs.Potts led her gaze to Belle whom had now begun to unfasten the cloak that had been around her arms.
Taking it from her she had leaned forward and placed it around Ariel’s shoulders. Belle had never been one to be sickly so she figured she hadn’t much to worry about… Though it was never wise to go out without a coat. Setting herself unto the hard sand Belle had moved her dress up some so that her feet could be covered. Mrs.Potts began to wave her hands as she herself made it to a crouched position. “Oh Belle dear your going to catch a cold! Adam will not be pleased at this!” Belle shook her head, her eyes rolling playfully. “Oh he will be alright, plus what he doesn’t know won’t hurt him none…” Glancing back to the bright haired mermaid she couldn’t help but to have so many questions… “So… whats it light? Living down there?” She pointed toward the ocean a little too curious of what it was like.
Adam smiled softly as Belle sat beside him making herself comfortable as he wanted. He wrapped his arm around and looked down at her loving before kissing the top of her head. He wanted nothing more than for Belle to be happy, content to not worry about the storm that raged outside. He knew now that she was with him she would certainly feel more at ease and he would do all he could to make sure she remained calm. “I love you.” He murmured softly as he kept his eyes focused on her for a few moments before looking over at the book she had brought. He knew it would be an enjoyable book as everything he read with Belle was. She also seemed quite certain he would like it as well and so there was no doubt in his mind he would not.
The soft smile remained on his lips as Belle allowed him to hold part of the book as she read it. His eyes would glance over to her as as she read always enjoying to see how excited she would become while reading. Even if she had read a story many times before she always seemed fascinated with the story, which of course, was something Adam simply loved about Belle. To be able to see how excited she truly was over a story was one of the many reasons he loved to read with Belle. His eyes went to the various pictures in the book as she pointed them out to him. Which he didn’t mind her pointing them out it was something she had always done. And was something he enjoyed because it was just how Belle did things and he loved everything she did. Kept his focus on the story paying attention to ever word that Belle spoke. At the same time he would look over at Belle ever so often seeing her expression.
As Belle completed the story what she had said before was true, and that being he would enjoy the story. But it wasn’t often he would not enjoy a story certainly when he was reading with Belle. Each story she chose to read with him was something he always enjoyed. He found it much more enjoyable reading with Belle rather than reading on his own, but there was many times when he would read alone. Certainly when he had study something or relearn things that he should have learned during the past ten years. He had noticed as she had read the story she had come closer to him and was nestled against his chest by the end of the story. His eyes had stayed on her since she had completed the story and he began to run his fingers through her hair once more as she questioned him. He thought about it for a few moments a rather thoughtful expression upon his features. “I suppose if I had to choose one I would say Athos.”
As his sweet loving tendles had combed their way through her hair Belle could not help but to feel her cheeks warm with color. Each touch had sent chills down her spine, and had caused her heart to float. What had seemed to be so foreign to her back home when she dreamed of love, had now seemed to be something she had grown quite addicted to… Which was odd, Belle had never been one to indulge in such addictions besides her books. Had love been a bad addiction? She had believed not, no… No in fact she had believed that this love that had been bestowed upon her by the all mighty himself was a gift. A present for being so strong, and patient. She had dreamed of adventure, and love, and many other things that she had questioned.. if would never find her. Her doubts should have never been taken seriously. Nor should they had ever surfaced… Perhaps it was her weakness? Doubting life, wondering what would become of her… She knew not what brought all these thoughts on. Perhaps it was the fact that she had come to be so alone at one point, and being alone causes one to think, ponder, wonder, imagine…
Though she had many deep thoughts of choices, one decision she had never, ever reconsidered. That was the choice that she made to come back and stay with Adam. No, his beastly appearance had once scared her yes, but long months had come to reveal to her that, that he was not a beast. No, it was all a veil, and she would love him none the less… Then when she had least expected it, that veil was stripped from him and before her, was this handsome and warm hearted man… Could anything be so wrong whilst she lay here cozy in his embrace? No…Nothing else in the world had mattered at this time. Reading, adventuring through these books, these tales. She could not help but to find that he was the one she was searching for. The one whom she had dreamed of, he was her adventure. When the tale had finished, and her question emerged she herself thought of an answer. She had believed Athos was the one whom had resembled her prince so. She had believed that Athos was the only one whom could relate to him. He was secretive and protective, two adjectives that could define her husband almost immediately… so when he had stated whom he believed was closest to him. Her eyes had come to widen, and that smile had spread even wider.
“I thought that too!… Athos is…is just like you, well there are some small differences. Your so protective, and you do get a bit secretive… Just like him.” Once more had she pushed the book against her breasts. Holding it in a tight hug, turning some the French maiden had come to peak up at him, so that he could view her face fully. “What shall we do now?” Curiosity had now been her newest emotion. The storm that had raged outside had been going nonstop, yet she had lost all her fear. She could not focus on the storm when he was before her. “Theres a bunch of other books but…” Her head tilted down some, those hazel eyes now shielded behind her lids. A thin strand of her oak locks had come to invade her face and she could not help but to allow a small giggle to part her. “…I just..” Leaning forward her lips had come to graze against his. As if giving him thanks through her lips for being so perfect. Moving forward just another inch she had allowed her lips to collide fully with his, and in such an instant had she stolen from his lips a kiss. Her plump pink appendages had moved with such precision… such passion overflowing between the two that she could not contain her heart beats that had now pumped so violently within her chest.
Withdrawing herself from him she had realized how much she had moved… She now sat upon his lap, facing him, her arms entangled around his neck. Diving forward her head now rested upon his shoulder. Breathing heavily the female could feel her hands now moving through that pony tail that rested behind him. She was being quite devious she admitted, for her fingers had tugged upon that ribbon only to release his hair from its confines… and then all his locks had drifted down. “I love you….” Her tone was whispered, hushed as if she wanted him to listen closely for it. Huffing some she had leaned backward. Belle’s cheek soon met his only to brush against his smooth skin… so warm, so perfect. “Thank you..” Leaning over some her lips had then met his cheek… What they would do next she knew not but it mattered none.
